Advocate Health is seeking a seasoned Respiratory Care professional for MedCenter Air, focusing on critical care transport across ambulances, helicopters, and airplanes. You will perform advanced airway management, ventilation setup, and rapid patient assessments in high-stakes environments.

The role requires RT licensure, Paramedic certification within 2 years, and CAMTS-aligned credentials. Night shifts are included, with sign-on bonuses and a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited school of respiratory care required.
• Current RT license or temporary license as a registered petitioner in the working and residential state.
• RRT required; BSRT preferred. BLS required.
• Meets qualifications of appropriate clinical advancement requirements.
• Paramedic Certification required within 2 years of hire.
• Must acquire EMT-P, SC EMT-P and National Registry; maintained throughout employment.
• Trauma Certification, ACLS, PALS, NRP required upon orientation; CAMTS certification maintenance.
• Advanced certifications including ACCS or equivalent as approved.

Responsibilities

• Collects data pertinent to the health or situation.
• Conducts clinical assessments and intervenes to ensure patient safety and recovery.
• Delegates care to appropriate healthcare workers.
• Ensures safe, effective, and financially responsible services.
• Participates in facility decision-making activities.
• Maintains operational knowledge for multiple transport modes (ambulance, helicopter, airplane).
• Initiates advanced practice procedures to improve patient outcomes.
• Operates airway support and ventilation equipment.
• Transports and monitors patients requiring advanced devices.
