Job summary

Redwood Living in Detroit, MI is seeking a Neighborhood Service Specialist to support neighborhoods with hands-on maintenance and operational guidance. The role fills in at vacancies, onboards new technicians, and ensures resident satisfaction by upholding standards.

You will perform inspections, coordinate bids, and supervise vendor work while ensuring safety and quality across properties. This is a dynamic, field-based position requiring practical trade skills and strong communication.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• EPA/HVAC certification required or the ability to obtain one within 6 months of employment.
• Trade certification preferred.
• 3 years relevant work experience required.
• Supervisory experience preferred.
• Computer literacy with experience in Microsoft Office Suite.

Responsibilities

• Fill in at sites with Service Technician vacancies.
• Onboard and support new Service Technicians as it relates to policy and procedure.
• Perform site inspections under the direction of the Regional Manager and Vice Presidents of Property Operations.
• Obtain bids, interview contractors, conduct follow up and support special projects as assigned.
• Assist current neighborhood teams as needed and directed by the Regional Manager.
• Repair and maintain facilities, buildings, grounds, and equipment at assigned Neighborhood.
• Perform light plumbing, electrical, carpentry, masonry, glazing, painting and drywall tasks.
• Direct vendors on repair issues, installation needs and grounds maintenance.
• Prepare vacated apartment homes for release quickly and professionally.
• Respond to resident complaints and concerns in a timely, professional manner.
