Job summary

Redwood Living, Inc. is seeking a Neighborhood Service Specialist in Detroit, MI to provide hands-on maintenance, support on-site teams, and onboarding of new technicians.

The role acts as a mobile resource, filling in at neighborhoods with vacancies or higher workloads while working closely with Regional Managers to ensure smooth operations and resident satisfaction. You will perform preventative maintenance, repairs across facilities, and coordinate with vendors.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Trade certification preferred.
• EPA/HVAC certification required or the ability to obtain within 6 months of employment is required.
• 3 years relevant work experience required.
• Supervisory experience preferred.
• Troubleshooting ability.
• Computer literacy with experience in Microsoft Office Suite.

Responsibilities

• Fill in at sites with Service Technician vacancies.
• Onboard and support new Service Technicians as it relates to policy and procedure.
• Perform site inspections under the direction of the Regional Manager and Vice Presidents of Property Operations.
• Obtain bids, interview contractors, conduct follow up and support special projects as assigned.
• Assist current neighborhood teams as needed and directed by the Regional Manager.
• Repair and maintain facilities, buildings, grounds, and equipment at assigned Neighborhood.
• Perform light plumbing, electrical, carpentry, masonry, glazing, painting and drywall tasks.
• Perform minor repairs of plumbing systems and water heaters.
