Job summary

Redwood Living in Detroit, MI, is seeking a Neighborhood Service Specialist to provide hands-on maintenance, operational support, and onboarding for new Technicians. This role fills in at neighborhoods with vacancies and supports regional management to ensure resident satisfaction.

You will perform preventative maintenance, basic repairs, supervise vendors, and ensure safety standards. Strong problem solving, scheduling, and communication are essential to keep buildings, grounds, and systems

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Trade certification preferred.
• Universal EPA/HVAC certification is required or the ability to obtain one within 6 months of employment.
• 3 years relevant work experience required.
• Supervisory experience preferred.
• Troubleshooting ability and MS Office proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Fill in at sites with Service Technician vacancies and support on-site teams.
• Onboard and support new Service Technicians regarding policy and procedures.
• Perform site inspections under guidance of Regional Manager and VP of Property Operations.
• Obtain bids, interview contractors, and support special projects as assigned.
• Repair and maintain facilities, buildings, grounds, and equipment at Neighborhoods.
• Perform light plumbing, electrical, carpentry, masonry, glazing, painting and drywall tasks.
• Repair plumbing systems incl. unclogging drains, toilet issues, water heater repairs.
• Direct vendors on repair issues, installation needs, and grounds maintenance.
