Job summary

S&ME in Raleigh, North Carolina is seeking an NDT/NDE Technician to perform non-destructive testing and visual inspection of structural steel, including bolted and welded connections, on a variety of projects.

You will work outdoors, may climb heights over 200 feet with fall protection, and join a 100% employee-owned firm offering training, benefits, ESOP, and growth opportunities. Full-time role with potential overtime.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of NDT/NDE metals testing experience or an associate degree in a related field.
• Active certifications: AWS CWI, AMPP Coating Inspector Level I or II, ASNT Level II in at least one method.
• Additional certifications (ICC Building/Structural inspections; UT Level II; PT/MT Level II) are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Conduct inspections and non-destructive testing (UT MT) on structural steel, including bolted and welded connections.
• Manage multiple testing assignments across projects and maintain detailed reports of findings.
• Maintain and calibrate testing equipment; manage field and lab inventories and calibration records.

NDT/NDE metals testing experience

ASNT Level II in one method

AWS CWI certification
