Job summary

Serco is seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead the PORTS program in the defense sector. You will coordinate across the Program Manager, customers, and project teams to ensure on-time, within-budget delivery of simulation-based training systems for the US Surface Navy.

The role requires DoD clearance eligibility, a strong background in software development projects, and leadership of cross-functional teams. Travel up to 10% is expected.

Qualifications

• US Citizen with the ability to obtain/maintain a DoD Secret clearance
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, applied science, or management
• Minimum 5 years of management experience including profit and loss
• Familiar with software development projects
• Solid experience using Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, MSProject)
• Travel up to 10%

Responsibilities

• Oversee and manage day-to-day operational aspects of ongoing projects; liaise between Program Manager, Customer, and project team
• Review project status and budgets; review work products; manage schedules and prepare status reports
• Prepare data items in accordance with DoD requirements
• Adhere to quality objectives, metrics, and schedules
• Attend meetings and brief Serco management and Navy customers on project status
• Assess project issues and develop resolutions to meet productivity, quality, and client-satisfaction goals
• Participate in proposal activities for new projects
