Job summary

RTX seeks an experienced Principal Electrical Engineer to serve as the Power System Technical Lead for Navy shipboard applications. The role requires leadership, strong planning, and the ability to manage a technical team across power generation, conversion, and distribution domains.

The position is onsite in Massachusetts with travel to shipyards and customer sites as needed. A DoD security clearance and extensive naval power experience are preferred for success.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related STEM field.
• 8+ years of experience in power system design, power conversion, power distribution, power sub-system design and/or control systems.
• Experience with Naval Shipboard Electrical Standards; MIL-STD-1399, MIL-STD-917, and/or MIL-STD-461.

Responsibilities

• Direct team of engineers to develop technical solutions based on system performance and operational specifications.
• Design, analyze, simulate, test, and document power conversion systems.
• Resolve production/technical/installation issues related to existing Raytheon or subcontractor product designs, Travel to shipyards may be required
• Perform design work within the bounds of a given schedule and costs.
• Present reviews of technical data to program leadership, technical staff, and customer community. Manage related risk discussions.
• Lead small teams to success with schedule, budget, and technical execution
• Engage in personal technical growth and facilitate technical growth in peers and junior engineers. Help to understand what opportunities are needed to mature the organization on the technical front.
• Regular travel to Tewksbury, MA; Marlborough, MA; Andover, MA; Woburn, MA; may be required depending on the assignment.
