Job summary
Raytheon in Massachusetts is seeking a Principal Electrical Engineer to serve as the Power System Technical Lead for Navy shipboard applications. The ideal candidate will direct engineers in power generation/conversion and distribution, design and test power systems, and coordinate with customers and shipyards.
Onsite role requiring DoD clearance and readiness to travel regionally. Requirements include a Bachelor’s in Electrical Engineering, 8+ years in power systems, and naval standards
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related STEM field.
- 8+ years of experience in power system design, power conversion, power distribution, power sub-system design and/or control systems.
- Experience with Naval Shipboard Electrical Standards; MIL-STD-1399, MIL-STD-917, and/or MIL-STD-461.
- U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain security clearance.
Responsibilities
- Direct team of engineers to develop technical solutions based on system performance and operational specifications.
- Design, analyze, simulate, test, and document power conversion systems.
- Resolve production/technical/installation issues related to existing Raytheon or subcontractor product designs, travel to shipyards may be required.
- Present reviews of technical data to program leadership, technical staff, and customer community; manage related risk discussions.
- Lead small teams to success with schedule, budget, and technical execution.
- Regular travel to Marlborough, MA and nearby sites as needed.
