Job summary

RTX in Portsmouth, RI seeks a Senior Electrical Engineer to support system power and grounding designs, prototyping and troubleshooting in a lab environment. The role is onsite in Portsmouth, RI, with occasional travel to test sites or suppliers.

Qualifications

• Degree in STEM with 5+ years of relevant experience, or an advanced degree with 3+ years.
• Power design experience including transformers, inductors, filters.
• Power-supply design and analog circuit design for feedback control, grounding, EMI, and validation.
• Experience with bench testing and validating new CCA designs.
• Experience mentoring junior engineers.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a US security clearance; U.S. citizenship required.
• Experience with Naval Programs (acoustics, torpedoes, submarines, or UUVs) is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Model and simulate power systems in design and analysis.
• Test prototypes and troubleshoot with electrical lab equipment.
• Participate in design peer reviews, resolve action items, and conduct trade studies.
• Work with limited supervision and meet commitments for schedule, cost, and technical goals.
• Occasional travel to test sites, test ranges, or suppliers is generally required.
• International travel assignments are available but optional.
