Job summary

Serco Inc. is seeking Experienced Mechanical Assemblers to support U.S. Navy vessel programs in Newport News, VA. You will follow blueprints to fabricate and assemble electromechanical and electronic assemblies for ships and military installations.

The role requires a High School Diploma, the ability to obtain a secret clearance, 5+ years with power tools and shipboard assembly, and willingness to work second/third shifts with occasional travel.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Secret clearance eligibility and ability to pass background/drug screening.
• OSHA certification.
• Respirator qualification and proper PPE.
• 5+ years of experience using power tools and assembling mechanical assemblies.

Responsibilities

• Follow blueprints, guidelines, and diagrams to fabricate and assemble electromechanical and electronic assemblies.
• Keep equipment operational by performing preventive maintenance and reporting malfunctions.
• Work with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within the field.
• Read drawings and assembly drawings to complete tasks.
• Work on-board U.S. Naval Ships and military installations, sometimes in challenging conditions.
