Job summary

Serco Inc. in Newport News, VA, is seeking a Senior Mechanical Assembler to support U.S. Navy shipboard installations.

You will work on C5ISR system assemblies, read blueprints, and fabricate electromechanical components on site alongside a small team or independently. This role requires a High School Diploma, ability to obtain a DoD Secret clearance, OSHA and forklift certifications, and experience in shipyard environments.

Qualifications

High School Diploma required.
Ability to obtain DoD Secret clearance.
OSHA certification required.
Forklift certification required.
8+ years of shipyard experience.
Ability to read drawings/blueprints.
Ability to lift 50 pounds and work in hot/noisy environments.

Responsibilities

Supervise a small team or work independently.
Follow blueprints, guidelines, and diagrams to fabricate and assemble cross-disciplinary assemblies.
Work onboard U.S. Naval Ships and military installations in challenging environments.
Be attentive to safety and adhere to Serco's Zero Harm program.
Demonstrate ability to work with drawings and assembly sketches for various tasks.
Be familiar with standard concepts and procedures in this field.
Collaborate with customer and Serco team members to deliver high-technology assemblies.
