Serco Inc. seeks a Pipe Fitter to support U.S. Navy ships, fabricating and assembling electromechanical hardware on-board in Norfolk, VA, collaborating with a dynamic team to deliver high-technology systems for naval ships and military installations.

Applicants must obtain and maintain an Active Secret Clearance, be a U.S. citizen with a HS diploma or GED, and have 4 years of pipe fitting experience. The role requires safety focus, respirator qualification, shipyard access, and travel up to 25%.

Qualifications

• The ability to obtain and maintain an Active Secret Clearance.
• US Citizenship.
• A High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
• 4 years of pipe fitting experience or equivalent.
• Familiarity with NAVSEA concepts, practices, and procedures.
• Ability to wear respirator and proper PPE.
• Ability to work in hot spaces, climb stairs/ladders, lift up to 50 pounds, push/pull up to 40 pounds.
• Attention to safety.
• Ability to access shipyards, undergo background checks and drug screening.
• Travel up to 25% to various work sites.
• Active or current Secret Clearance preferred.
• Shipyard experience.
• OSHA Certification.

Responsibilities

• Interpret specifications, drawings, blueprints, shop job orders and process sheets.
• Have knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field.
• Work onboard U.S. Naval Ships and military installations in an area that is somewhat uncomfortable due to drafts, noise, temperature variation and the like.
