Job summary

Serco Inc. is seeking a Material Manager to support modernization and maintenance of Navy amphibious platforms in a hybrid role based in the National Capital Region. You will identify, track, procure, and stage material to keep availabilities on schedule and within cost targets.

The role requires DoW Secret clearance, U.S. citizenship, and 5+ years of Navy/DoD material management experience. Strong analytical and communication skills are essential, with travel up to 10%.

Qualifications

  • Active DoW Secret security clearance or the ability to obtain one.
  • U.S. citizenship is required.
  • Experience in Navy/DoD material management or logistics is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze work packages, alteration packages, and maintenance requirements to develop material needs and delivery schedules.
  • Track and manage critical spares, LLTM, and Government Furnished Material (GFM) from requisition through receipt and installation.
  • Coordinate with NAVSUP, DLA, ISEAs, SUPSHIP, shipyards, HII, AITs, and ship Supply Departments to resolve shortages and obsolescence issues.
  • Maintain real-time visibility of material on order, in transit, in storage, and staged for waterfront or shipboard use using Navy systems.
  • Prepare material kits, monitor delivery performance, and escalate material risks threatening critical path events.
  • Produce material readiness metrics and provide inputs to readiness briefings and program office reports.
  • Ensure material supports current ship configuration and aligns with CM and change control processes.
  • Perform other logistics tasks in support of PMS 321 modernization and maintenance goals.
