Tenaska Marketing Ventures (TMV) seeks a Market Risk Analyst in Omaha, NE to analyze and value a portfolio of natural gas trading positions and derivatives. You will work with traders and leadership to ensure accurate valuations, maintain market inputs, and clearly communicate risk exposures.

The role combines daily reporting with deep quantitative work on valuation methodologies, pricing inputs, and risk analysis, enabling informed trading decisions in a dynamic energy market.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, economics, statistics, engineering, or a quantitative field.
• 2+ years of analytical/financial experience (valuation, modeling, or trading analytics).
• Interest in derivatives pricing concepts including forward curves, volatility, and optionality.
• Strong analytical and quantitative problem-solving skills with the ability to support conclusions.
• Advanced Excel skills with complex formulas, pivots, and data analysis.
• Ability to interpret large datasets and translate analysis into clear insights.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Dependable attendance is required.

Responsibilities

• Develop independent valuation conclusions for complex deal structures.
• Investigate unusual valuation results and determine root causes.
• Research market developments and pricing methodologies affecting valuation accuracy.
• Value a portfolio of physical and financial natural gas transactions, including derivatives.
• Maintain valuation models reflecting transaction structures and monitor daily changes in value.
• Maintain and update market data, forward curves, volatility, and locational basis.
