Job summary

Tenaska Marketing Ventures (TMV) is seeking a detail-oriented Gas Accountant to join our team to ensure accurate and timely settlement of natural gas transactions, supporting our financial and operational integrity.

You'll collaborate with Commercial, Trading, Scheduling, Risk and Accounting teams, prepare invoices and settlement statements, reconcile cash and volumes, and generate internal and regulatory reports while maintaining strict controls.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or business-related field required.
• 2+ years of accounting experience preferred.
• Understanding of the natural gas industry or willingness to learn.
• Effective communication and collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Review and validate supplier invoices to ensure accurate settlement of natural gas transactions.
• Partner with Trading, Scheduling, Contract Compliance and other teams to interpret contracts and resolve discrepancies.
• Prepare and process payment requests per contractual agreements and settlement timelines.
• Record and reconcile cash receipts in the Gas Management System (GMS).
• Reconcile invoiced volumes to pipeline statements and adjust in GMS as needed.
• Support reconciling GMS activity to the general ledger and assist with follow-ups.
• Assist in matching nominations to commercial transactions and resolve discrepancies.
• Respond to settlement inquiries from customers and suppliers promptly and professionally.
• Prepare and maintain internal reports, settlement documentation, and regulatory filings.
