Job summary

Terracon seeks a Traveling Construction Materials Technician to perform field testing, observation, and inspection of soils, aggregates, concrete, asphalt, and steel on projects nationwide. You will travel 100% to sites across Michigan, Indiana, Kentucky, West Virginia, Ohio, and possibly other states, supporting multiple high-profile projects while maintaining safety and quality standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 1–2 years of relevant field experience or equivalent training.
• Experience with laptop use and MS Word/Excel.
• Willingness to travel up to 100% and extended periods away from home.
• Flexibility for varying schedules, including overtime and weekends.
• A valid driver's license may be required.

Responsibilities

• Perform testing, observation, and inspection as directed.
• Document findings clearly and prepare reports for PM review.
• Assist higher level technicians on complex tasks.
• Maintain equipment and calibration; ensure safety compliance.
• Coordinate with project team and field personnel across sites.
