Job summary

Terracon seeks a Traveling Construction Materials Technician to join the Eastern Midwest division, covering Michigan, Indiana, Ohio, Kentucky, and West Virginia. The role requires 100% travel and involves field testing, observation, and inspection of materials across high-profile projects nationwide.

You will collect samples, document results, and communicate findings to Project Managers while maintaining equipment and adhering to safety standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 6 months experience required.
• Willingness to travel up to 100% and for extended periods.
• Flexibility for varying schedules including overtime, weekends, and extended shifts.

Responsibilities

• Perform field testing, observation, and inspection of construction materials (e.g., soils, aggregates, concrete, asphalt, steel).
• Transport material samples to the laboratory with documentation for testing and analysis.
• Prepare and submit data and observations in reports for daily transmittal to the Terracon Project Manager.
• Maintain and clean equipment, vehicles, and work areas; assist with scheduling and dispatch as needed.
• Follow strict safety standards and be adaptable to changing field conditions across diverse sites.
