Job summary

R-2 Contractors, Inc. is seeking an experienced Utility-Scale Horizontal Directional Drilling Foreman to lead field crews on nationwide HDD projects. This role requires 100% travel to active project sites and oversight of bore planning, drill setup, and safety on trenchless conduit installs.

The position emphasizes strong leadership, quality workmanship, and the ability to coordinate multiple crews while delivering on schedule and safety standards.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of HDD, underground utility, or heavy civil construction experience.
• 2+ years as HDD Foreman leading field crews.
• Ability to read project drawings, bore profiles, and specifications.
• Willingness to travel nationwide and work extended schedules as needed.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise daily HDD operations for large-scale projects.
• Plan daily work and coordinate crews, equipment, and materials.
• Read bore profiles, locate utilities, and follow specs.
• Coordinate drill setup, pilot bores, reaming, and conduit installation.
• Ensure safety, quality, and schedule adherence on site.
• Monitor production, manpower, and equipment utilization.
• Train and develop crew members for future leadership.
