Job summary

Earth View is seeking a Horizontal Directional Drill Superintendent to oversee HDD projects, coordinating crews, equipment, and materials to meet timelines and budgets while maintaining safety standards in underground utility installation and pipeline construction.

The role requires 5+ years in HDD with supervisory experience, knowledge of HDD rigs and mud systems, ability to read blueprints, OSHA 30 certification, CDL preferred, and willingness to travel and work outdoors in varying conditions.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor's degree preferred.
• Minimum 5+ years HDD experience with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
• Knowledge of HDD equipment, drilling techniques, soil conditions, and underground utilities.
• CDL preferred; OSHA 30 or equivalent safety training a plus; HDD certifications desirable.
• Ability to read and interpret construction plans and bore profiles; strong leadership.

Responsibilities

• Plan, schedule, and supervise all HDD project phases from pre-construction to site restoration.
• Communicate with HDD crews through daily huddles and ongoing instruction.
• Lead HDD crews to ensure safe, efficient performance.
• Oversee performance reviews and enforce company safety policies.
• Manage operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of HDD rigs and mud systems.
• Ensure OSHA compliance and safe working environment.
• Report incidents per company policies and procedures.
• Monitor drilling accuracy, bore alignment, and installation progress.
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and clients to review plans and adjust operations.
• Identify and resolve technical/logistical issues during drilling operations.
• Complete daily/weekly/monthly reports and credit card receipts as required.
• Provide guidance and training on HDD techniques and safety.
