Job summary

R-2 Contractors, Inc. is seeking an experienced Utility-Scale HDD Foreman to lead field crews performing trenchless conduit installation on utility-scale power, renewable energy, and transmission projects nationwide.

You will plan daily HDD operations, coordinate crews and equipment, read drawings, manage drill fluid systems, and ensure work meets safety and quality standards. Travel is 100% to active project sites, with extended schedules as needed; you will mentor crews, complete daily

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of HDD, underground utility, or heavy civil construction experience.
• Minimum 2 years as an HDD Foreman leading field crews.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise daily HDD operations for utility-scale projects.
• Plan daily work assignments and coordinate crews, equipment, materials, and subcontractors.
• Read and interpret project drawings, bore profiles, utility locates, and specifications.
• Coordinate drill setup, pilot bores, reaming, and conduit installation.
• Ensure drilling operations meet safety, quality, and project standards.
• Monitor production, manpower, equipment utilization, and project progress.
• Train, mentor, and develop crew members while building future field leaders.
• Complete daily reports, bore logs, and project documentation.
