Job summary

Layton Construction is seeking a capable site professional to develop and manage job plans for assigned projects. You will work under the Site Superintendent and Project Manager to ensure timely execution, safety, and quality across ground-up commercial builds nationwide.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree in construction management or related field and 2+ years of ground-up commercial construction experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in construction management or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 2+ years of experience in ground-up commercial construction projects.
• Knowledge of construction processes and blueprints.
• Knowledge of building codes and subcontractors’ scopes of work.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Proven problem-solving abilities in dynamic construction environments.
• Experience with BIM360 or similar tools and willingness to learn.
• Craft skills in concrete or other building trades preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop job plan for an assigned project, including schedule, access, manpower, and building requirements.
• Review plans and specs to fully understand job requirements and scope.
• Interact with architects and owners to resolve issues and maintain schedule.
• Procure tools, labor, and some materials; manage costs and progress reporting.
• Inspect ongoing work to ensure conformance with plans and schedules.
