Job summary

Layton Construction seeks an experienced Site Superintendent to develop and manage a comprehensive job plan for assigned projects, reporting to the Project Manager. This role requires relocation and nationwide opportunities.

You will lead field teams, review plans, procure resources, coordinate with architects, owners, and subcontractors, and ensure safety, quality, and schedule adherence across multiple phases of construction.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in construction management or related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 2+ years of experience in ground-up commercial construction projects.
• Knowledge of construction processes and building codes.
• Knowledge of subcontractors' scopes of work and quality requirements.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Experience with BIM360 or similar; ability to learn new tech.
• Craft skills in concrete or other building trades preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop and manage a job plan for an assigned project.
• Deliver predictable outcomes with internal, external teams, and customers.
• Ensure safety, integrity, unity, and quality of work.
• Review plans and specifications to understand job requirements.
• Procure tools, labor, and some materials.
• Interact with architects and owners to resolve job issues.
• Communicate progress to supervisors, clients, and subcontractors.
• Inspect work to ensure conformance to specs and schedules.
• Manage project progress with reports, costs, and schedules.
• Assist in preparing the Project Management Plan.
• Handle extra work tickets, change requests, and back charges.
• Comply with safety policies; maintain professional standards.
• Collaborate in a team environment to achieve goals.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
