Job summary

Hirewell is seeking a Traveling Project Engineer to support complex commercial construction projects across the United States. This role targets professionals with roughly 2–3 years of commercial construction experience who seek significant field exposure and a path toward Project Manager or Superintendent roles.

Initially, you will work onsite at projects nationwide, gaining hands-on experience in project execution, coordination, controls, procurement, and closeout.

Qualifications

• Must have a bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, or a related field.
• 2–3 years of commercial construction experience preferred.
• Willingness to travel nationally and work onsite across the United States.

Responsibilities

• Support commercial construction projects from preconstruction through closeout.
• Review and interpret contracts, drawings, specs, and project requirements.
• Manage RFIs, submittals, meeting minutes, and project documentation.
• Assist with subcontractor buyout, procurement, and vendor coordination.
• Support planning, budgeting, estimating, and scheduling activities.
• Coordinate communication among project team members and stakeholders.
• Track costs, budgets, forecasts, and financial reporting.
• Document project progress with photos and field reports.
• Participate in project meetings and track action items.
