Job summary

Cisco Systems, Inc. seeks a Business Development Manager - National Security to identify, shape, and advance strategic opportunities across the U.S. National Security market, with emphasis on the Intelligence Community and classified federal programs.

You will lead early capture and business development activities, coordinating with sales, systems engineering, product management, alliances, system integrators, and proposal teams to align Cisco and Splunk capabilities with mission requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in business administration, IT, CS, National Security Studies, Engineering or related field plus 8 years of relevant experience; OR Master's degree plus 6 years of relevant experience
• Active TS/SCI clearance with an active background investigation at time of application
• Minimum 8 years in U.S. Federal business development, capture management, technical sales, solutions architecture, or mission consulting supporting IC or National Security agencies
• Experience collaborating with Tier-1 Federal System Integrators (FSIs) and defense prime contractors on joint opportunities and teaming arrangements

Responsibilities

• Lead business development activities across designated National Security and Intelligence Community accounts prior to formal RFP release
• Develop and execute multi-year account growth strategies aligned with agency priorities and budgets
• Establish and maintain relationships with CIOs, CTOs, program managers and acquisition officials in classified and unclassified environments
• Identify emerging programs of record, funding priorities, contract vehicles, recompetes and procurement trends
• Translate National Security requirements into technology initiatives spanning cybersecurity, data analytics, AI/ML, observability, cloud infrastructure
• Lead early-stage capture planning including stakeholder mapping and competitive analysis
• Collaborate with Federal FSIs, defense primes and channel partners to identify joint opportunities
• Maintain a qualified strategic pipeline and deliver updates to sales leadership on opportunity maturity and win probability
• Coordinate with internal capture, proposal, legal, and engineering teams to align resources
• Author executive briefs, market assessments, capture plans and business justifications
