Job summary

Cogent Communications in Herndon, VA is hiring a Regional Sales Executive for our in-office team. You will identify and close new business opportunities in mid-market and national accounts, leveraging direct outreach and field activities.

The role emphasizes building relationships with decision makers and meeting revenue targets while representing Cogent’s high-speed Internet, private network, and data center services.

Qualifications

• Previous sales experience with a track record of success is required.
• Ability to identify, qualify and generate new business through prospecting and research.
• Strong oral and written communication is required.
• Ability to meet revenue deadlines in a fast-paced team environment.

Responsibilities

• Identify new business opportunities within the Regional Sales Territory (Mid Market to National Accounts up to 999 employees).
• Use direct calling, email, and other efforts to qualify and generate opportunities with Key Decision Makers.
• Support prospecting with field activities like property/site events and in-person meetings.
• Position Cogent services to meet current and future connectivity needs for customers.
• Aim to achieve monthly revenue goals across large commercial buildings and campuses.
