Job summary

The Mattress Factory in Pittsburgh is seeking a part-time Visitor Experience Associate to provide excellent customer service and enhance visitor understanding of installations.

You will perform light housekeeping, welcome guests, sell tickets and merchandise, and maintain welcoming public areas. Reporting to the Visitor Experience Manager, you will engage with visitors and help sustain a positive museum experience.

Qualifications

• Experience working in guest service, preferably in a museum or cultural setting.
• Excellent verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
• Professional, personable demeanor.
• Consistent availability and punctuality.
• Collaborative attitude and love of teamwork.
• Ability to seek clarification or direction when priorities are unclear.
• Must be able to traverse all campus areas, including stairs.

Responsibilities

• Be a positive, enthusiastic representative of the Mattress Factory.
• Enhance the guest experience.
• Promote a guest-centered culture.
• Welcome guests and assist with tickets, memberships and merchandise purchases.
• Keep Front Desk, Lobby, Galleries and MF Shop presentable with basic housekeeping.
• Engage with visitors to answer questions and provide information.
• Answer museum inquiries on a multi-line system and route where needed.
• Stay informed on museum happenings and offerings as a resource for visitors.
• Monitor galleries and museum spaces for maintenance needs.
• Stock supplies and printed materials in public areas.
• Close and secure gallery spaces.
• Collaborate with managers and coworkers to improve guest experience.
