Job summary

The Palmer Museum of Art at Penn State is seeking a part-time Visitor Services Associate to greet visitors, check in guests, and answer inquiries at the front desk. You will promote museum programs and membership, assist with wayfinding, conduct brief surveys, help maintain interactive displays, and support events while ensuring accessibility for all visitors.

Candidates should have customer service experience and strong communication in a diverse environment, with proficiency in Microsoft

Qualifications

Previous experience in a customer service role.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work with a wide variety of people, including students, faculty, staff, community members, and volunteers.
Experience with Microsoft Office365, SharePoint, Excel, and Word.
Experience in an arts, non-profit, or educational setting is a plus.

Responsibilities

Check in visitors and inform visitors about museum policies and current activities.
Promote museum programs and membership to guests.
Assist with wayfinding and visitor surveys.
Help with cleaning and maintaining interactive displays and resources.
