Job summary

The Blanton Museum of Art at the University of Texas at Austin is seeking an Admissions Assistant to support Visitor and Volunteer Services. Responsibilities include checking in visitors, selling admissions, promoting memberships, and handling deposits.

The role reports to the Assistant Director of Visitor and Volunteer Services and requires strong customer service and accuracy. The position is full-time, non-exempt, with a 40-hour work week, Wednesday through Sunday, and benefits eligibility.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Ability to work Wednesday through Sunday (non-standard work week).
• 1 year demonstrated clerical experience including ticketing, CRM, cash handling or POS.
• Accuracy and attention to detail required.
• Customer service orientation and ability to enforce museum policies politely.
• Proficiency with PC/Mac and MS Word/Excel.

Responsibilities

• Check in visitors and process admissions and memberships onsite.
• Handle point-of-sale transactions (credit cards, cash, coupons).
• Maintain CRM records and generate admissions and attendance reports.
• Support daily deposits and basic accounting reconciliations.
• Provide information and assistance to visitors and collaborate with departments.
