Role Overview

As a Municipal Project Engineer, you will lead engineering and design efforts for construction plan sets, including specifications, while maintaining team standards and conducting quality checks. You will also support planning and funding processes by developing project scopes and budgets.

Your Responsibilities

• Prepare and manage project scope, schedule, and budget.
• Coach staff, manage sub-consultants, and oversee expenses during project execution.
• Communicate project goals, alternatives, and outcomes effectively to teams, clients, and the public.
• Anticipate and resolve project issues, advising clients on solutions.
• Ensure timely invoicing and collections.
• Engage in business development and ensure client satisfaction.
• Identify staffing needs and participate in hiring processes.
• Perform performance reviews and ensure staff have necessary tools and training.

Minimum Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or related field.
• At least 5 years of experience in maintenance of traffic design, traffic control, and utility coordination.
• Experience with municipal streets, utilities, and roadway/highway design.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD/Civil 3D.
• PE license in Michigan.
