Job Description Summary:

The Field Project Engineer will perform field engineering management, field inspections, construction and/or commissioning management, FAT at vendor workshops, develop ITPs, conduct contractor walkthroughs, review bids, and support contractor selection. The FPE is expected to lead site construction and commissioning teams to complete site activities in line with project objectives, priorities, contracts, and specifications. Success is measured by safety performance, project cost, schedule adherence, and quality assurance.

Responsibilities include:
  1. Serve as the on-site contact for construction and commissioning management.
  2. Oversee safety compliance including site orientation, work permits, safety meetings, audits, and events.
  3. Verify receipt and inspection of materials, manage non-conformities, and material custody transfer.
  4. Manage project documents from development to handover, ensuring quality and compliance.
  5. Manage external/internal suppliers and ensure scope coverage and delivery.
  6. Develop and manage construction and commissioning schedules, report delays.
  7. Respond promptly to RFIs, ideally within 48 hours.
  8. Follow and update the project execution plan.
  9. Maintain effective communication among project stakeholders.
  10. Support contract administration and address contractual disputes.
  11. Track and approve changes, maintain change logs.
  12. Close action items timely, review open items regularly.
  13. Maintain comprehensive project knowledge to support project management.
  14. Contribute to construction and commissioning strategies during project development.
Qualifications:

Required:

  • High School Diploma
  • 5 years of field construction or related experience

Preferred:

  • BS in Engineering from an ABET-accredited university (preferred)
  • Experience managing projects
  • Industrial gas experience
