Job Description Summary:

The Field Project Engineer will perform field engineering management, including field inspections, construction, commissioning management, FAT at vendor workshops, developing ITPs, contractor walkthroughs, bid reviews, and selection. The role involves leading site construction and commissioning teams to complete site activities in line with project objectives, priorities, contracts, and specifications. Success is measured by safety performance, cost control, schedule adherence, and quality assurance.

Responsibilities include:
  • Serving as the on-site point of contact for construction and commissioning management.
  • Overseeing safety compliance, including site orientation, work permits, safety meetings, audits, and HSES events.
  • Verifying receipt and inspection of materials and equipment, managing non-conformities, and material custody transfer.
  • Managing project documents from development to handover, ensuring quality and compliance.
  • Managing external/internal suppliers and ensuring scope coverage and delivery.
  • Expediting suppliers to meet delivery goals.
  • Maintaining communication logs with external partners.
  • Developing and managing construction and commissioning schedules, reporting delays.
  • Responding promptly to RFIs during construction and pre-commissioning.
  • Following and updating the project execution plan.
  • Managing field communication according to plan.
  • Supporting contract administration and resolving contractual disputes.
  • Tracking and approving changes, maintaining logs, and escalating as needed.
  • Closing action items in a timely manner.
  • Maintaining comprehensive project knowledge and filling in for the Project Manager if required.
  • Contributing to construction and commissioning strategies during project development.
Required Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma
  • 5 years of field construction or related experience
Preferred Qualifications:
  • BS in Engineering from an ABET-accredited university (preferred)
  • Experience managing projects (a plus)
  • Industrial gas experience (a plus)
