Job Description Summary:

The Field Project Engineer will perform Field Engineering management, inspections, construction and commissioning management, FAT at vendor workshops, develop ITPs, conduct contractor walkthroughs, review bids, and support vendor and contractor selection. They will lead site construction and commissioning teams to complete activities in line with project objectives, priorities, contracts, and specifications. Success is measured by safety, cost, schedule, and quality adherence.

Responsibilities include:
  1. Serve as the on-site contact for construction and commissioning management.
  2. Oversee safety compliance including site orientation, permits, safety analyses, toolbox meetings, audits, and HSES events.
  3. Verify receipt and inspection of materials, manage non-conformities, and material custody transfer.
  4. Manage project documents ensuring deliverables meet specifications and quality standards.
  5. Manage and challenge external/internal suppliers to ensure scope coverage and project goals.
  6. Expedite suppliers to meet delivery goals.
  7. Maintain communication logs with external partners.
  8. Develop and manage construction and commissioning schedules, report delays.
  9. Manage construction and pre-commissioning activities, respond to RFIs promptly.
  10. Ensure adherence to project execution plans, update as needed.
  11. Manage field communication following the communication plan.
  12. Support contract administration and handle contractual disputes.
  13. Track and approve changes, maintain change logs, escalate issues.
  14. Follow up and close action items from construction and commissioning.
  15. Maintain comprehensive project knowledge to fill in for the Project Manager if needed.
  16. Contribute to development of construction and commissioning strategies.
Required Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma
  • 5 years of field construction or related experience
Preferred Qualifications:
  • BS in Engineering from an ABET-accredited university (preferred)
  • Experience managing projects (a plus)
  • Industrial gas experience (a plus)
