Our client is actively seeking an experienced Project Engineer to join their team! This individual will be responsible for engineering and technical disciplines across various projects, including planning, establishing criteria, project reviews, and implementing key project elements. This is a full-time, contract role that is remote, with approximately 50-60% travel to project sites across the United States.

Job Summary

This role involves executing duties essential for the successful delivery of projects, focusing on engineering and technical aspects to plan, review, and ensure proper project implementation.

Essential Functions

1. Prepare, schedule, coordinate, and monitor assigned engineering projects.
2. Define project parameters, assign responsibilities, and oversee the project team.
3. Assist the construction manager during project implementation.
4. Perform quality control on budgets, schedules, plans, and team performance; report on project status.
5. Communicate and collaborate with the project manager and team; work with senior engineers to improve project efficiency and profitability.
6. Review engineering tasks and initiate corrective actions.
7. Develop specifications for project equipment.
8. Create frameworks for project metrics and data collection.
9. Conduct quality inspections during construction.
10. Ensure compliance with applicable codes, standards, and policies.
11. Document lessons learned and share insights across the organization.
12. Perform other duties as assigned.
13. Travel approximately 50% to project sites.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Knowledge of civil, mechanical, or electrical construction practices.
• Strong understanding of engineering principles.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with Microsoft Project or Primavera is desirable.
• Ability to understand and follow corporate policies for Capital Project Management.

Education and Experience

• Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline.
• At least 3 years of experience in construction, manufacturing, or engineering.
• Skills in requirements analysis, design, project management, construction methods, process improvement, documentation, risk management, CAD/CAM.
• Proficiency with Word, Excel, Outlook, MS Project, AutoCAD.
• Excellent communication skills.

Physical Requirements and Work Environment

The candidate should be able to:

• Handle exposure to noise, temperature extremes, and environmental conditions.
• Stand or remain stationary for extended periods.
• Perform repetitive movements, bend, twist, and lift up to 50 pounds.
• Move around facilities and work around dust, chemicals, and other substances.
• Wear required PPE (hearing, vision, hardhat).
