Job summary

The City of Yuma is seeking a Part-time General Maintenance Worker to support the Utilities Department, Wastewater Division. The role involves performing manual labor, maintenance, cleaning and repair tasks across municipal facilities, grounds, equipment, and utility operations in a community-focused team.

Under supervision, you will assist with routine upkeep, material handling and general labor, follow safety regulations, and help maintain open communication with City staff and residents.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Some experience in general maintenance work is preferred.
• Ability to use basic tools safely and effectively.
• Ability to follow verbal and written instructions and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Assist with manual labor, maintenance, cleaning and repair tasks for municipal facilities, grounds, equipment, and utility operations.
• Perform tasks under supervision and report safety hazards or equipment problems.
• Assist with routine maintenance, material handling, and other general labor duties as assigned.
