Job summary

Pima County’s Regional Wastewater Reclamation Conveyance Division seeks a Utility Maintenance Worker I to perform routine cleaning, inspection, and repair of sanitary sewer conveyance systems. Duties include vector control, disinfection, and preventive maintenance of lines and pumping facilities, with emphasis on safety and proper handling of hazardous materials.

Minimum qualifications include a high school diploma or GED, six months of maintenance experience, and eligibility for CDL with tanker

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED equivalency is required.
• Six months of maintenance experience in construction or industrial setting.
• Relevant education and/or experience from an accredited college or university may be substituted for the minimum qualifications.

Responsibilities

• Operates and maintains wastewater conveyance systems and equipment.
• Performs preventive maintenance on sewer lines, manholes, and pumping facilities.
• Assists with locating and clearing blockages in sewer lines and manholes.
• Ensures safety practices and uses PPE as required.
• Maintains and calibrates specialized tools and vehicles used in conveyance operations.
