Job summary

Pima County's Regional Wastewater Reclamation Conveyance Division seeks a Utility Maintenance Worker I to perform routine cleaning, repair, inspection, and maintenance of sanitary sewer systems. The role involves operating pressure cleaners, video inspection gear, and other equipment, with emphasis on safety and regulatory compliance.

Minimum qualifications include a high school diploma or GED and six months of maintenance experience; candidates must obtain ADEQ Grade 1 certification and a CDL

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required with six months maintenance experience.
• Education and/or experience substitution allowed per policy.
• Valid driver license required; AZ license upon appointment; DOT screening may apply.

Responsibilities

• Operates specialized equipment, machines and vehicles for sewer maintenance.
• Performs preventive maintenance and repair of sewer lines and manholes.
• Locates blockages and clears area around manhole covers.
• Maintains safety PPE and handles hazardous materials per MSDS.
