Job summary

MPI seeks an experienced Project Manager to lead municipal construction projects from preconstruction through closeout. The role focuses on schedule and budget management, bid processes, subcontractor buyouts, and coordination with public officials.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years PM experience with a General Contractor and a degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field. Public-sector experience is essential.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of Project Management experience with a General Contractor.
• Experience delivering municipal or public-sector construction projects.
• Strong understanding of public bidding procedures, contract administration, and project financial management.
• Experience working with municipalities, park districts, government agencies, or other public owners.
• Bachelor's degree preferred in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field.

Responsibilities

• Oversee multiple municipal construction projects from preconstruction through project completion.
• Develop and manage project schedules, budgets, subcontractor buyout, and procurement activities.
• Coordinate with municipal owners, architects, engineers, inspectors, and public officials throughout the project lifecycle.
• Manage RFIs, submittals, change orders, contract administration, and project documentation.
• Monitor project financial performance and proactively identify opportunities to improve profitability.
• Partner with field leadership to ensure projects are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with public-sector clients to support repeat business opportunities.
