Job summary

MPI, a well-established New York City general contractor, seeks a Project Manager to lead public works initiatives from award to closeout. You will manage schedules, budgets, procurement, and client communications for projects across healthcare, education, and municipal facilities.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years of PM experience with a general contractor, strong leadership and client-management skills, and proficiency in Procore, Primavera P6, MS Project, Bluebeam, and Microsoft Office.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of project management experience with a general contractor.
  • Proven experience delivering public sector projects in New York City.
  • Experience with agencies such as SCA, NYC Health + Hospitals, DASNY, NYCHA, DDC, DCAS, or other municipal entities.
  • Strong understanding of public procurement, prevailing wage requirements, change order management, and government contracting procedures.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining schedule and budget objectives.
  • Proficiency with Procore, Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, Bluebeam, and Microsoft Office.
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or a related field preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Manage multiple public works construction projects from award through completion.
  • Oversee project schedules, budgets, procurement, subcontractor management, and client communications.
  • Coordinate with public agencies, consultants, architects, engineers, and inspectors.
  • Prepare and manage RFIs, submittals, change orders, CPM schedules, and project documentation.
  • Lead project meetings and provide regular progress updates to ownership and stakeholders.
  • Ensure compliance with agency requirements, contract specifications, safety standards, and regulatory obligations.
  • Manage project financials including forecasting, billing, cost controls, and buyouts.
  • Support procurement and coordination of long-lead materials and subcontractors.
  • Drive successful project closeout, punch-list completion, and turnover documentation.
