Job summary

MPI is seeking a Project Manager for public works projects in New York City. You will oversee all phases from pre-construction through closeout, coordinating with public agencies and leading cross-disciplinary teams to deliver complex renovations and ground-up projects.

The Successful Applicant profile includes 5+ years in construction PM, experience with DDC/DASNY/SCA/NYCHA/MTA, and strong budgeting, scheduling, and stakeholder management skills. Strong leadership is essential.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience as a Project Manager within the construction industry.
• Proven experience managing public works projects throughout New York City.
• Direct experience working with agencies such as DDC, DASNY, SCA, NYCHA, MTA, or similar public entities.
• Strong understanding of public bidding, government procurement, and public contract administration.

Responsibilities

• Manage all phases of public construction projects from pre-construction through closeout.
• Oversee project schedules, budgets, subcontractors, procurement, and contract administration.
• Coordinate with public agencies including DDC, DASNY, SCA, NYCHA, and other government bodies.
• Lead project meetings with owners, architects, engineers, consultants, and subcontractors.
• Prepare and manage RFIs, submittals, change orders, pay applications, and project reporting.
• Monitor project costs, forecasting, and financial performance to ensure profitability.
• Ensure compliance with public sector regulations, contract requirements, prevailing wage requirements, and safety standards.
• Identify project risks and implement solutions to maintain project objectives.
• Manage field teams and provide leadership throughout the construction lifecycle.
• Drive successful project turnover and closeout documentation.
