Job summary

Mediko in Richmond, VA is seeking a Payroll Specialist to manage multi-state payroll with Paycom, ensuring accuracy and compliance across California and Washington. You will reconcile data, handle PTO, overtime, and year-end reporting while collaborating with HR and Finance to maintain payroll integrity.

The ideal candidate has a bachelor’s degree and 2–3 years of complex payroll experience, with strong knowledge of wage and hour laws and state tax rules. This is a day-shift, on-site role.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field from an accredited institution.
• Minimum 2-3 years of relevant payroll experience.
• Experience with Paycom HRIS and payroll is strongly preferred.
• Experience with multi-state payroll, including CA and WA, is required.

Responsibilities

• Biweekly multi-state payroll processing with accuracy and deadlines.
• Provide payroll guidance to employees and managers.
• Resolve payroll discrepancies and ensure corrections.
• Coordinate quarterly and year-end payroll reporting.
• Collaborate with HR and Finance on payroll changes and data integrity.
• Process leave accruals and disability payments.
• Assist with HR and payroll audits.
