Job summary

National CORE is seeking a Maintenance Technician for a full-time on-site role in San Diego area. You will assist in overall property maintenance, perform small electrical, plumbing, carpentry, painting, custodial, and grounds tasks, and support resident services.

A valid California driver’s license and basic maintenance experience are required, with some positions also requiring bilingual communication. Expect a non-exempt, on-site role with potential standby schedule for evenings, weekends,

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of maintenance experience in property management.
• High school diploma or equivalent; 3+ years relevant work experience may count.
• Must have a valid California driver’s license and auto insurance.

Responsibilities

• Participate in all maintenance projects and training classes as directed.
• Perform minor electrical repairs on appliances, fixtures, switches and outlets.
• Perform minor plumbing work such as clearing drain stoppages and replacing fittings.
• Replace broken tile, screens, fixtures, appliances, blinds, and locks.
• Paint interior and exterior as directed.
• Perform minor carpentry work as directed.
• Assist in custodial work (sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, trash, windows).
• Assist in grounds work as directed.
• Assist in repair of concrete, masonry, roof, fencing and signage as directed.
• Standby for evening/weekend/holiday coverage with up to 30-minute response time.
• Assist in inventory control and utilization of maintenance materials.
• Keep storage and maintenance shop clean and orderly.
• Complete work orders within 24 hours or as directed.
• Assist in annual apartment inspections and turning of vacant units.
• Maintain knowledge of vendor contracts and supplier relationships.
• Contribute to team by communicating property conditions.
• Know shutoffs for water, gas, and fixtures.
