Job summary

Baystate Health is seeking a Patient Care Technician (PCT) to support registered nurses and deliver essential bedside care in a hospital setting. The role includes direct patient care, monitoring, and basic procedures such as phlebotomy and EKG support, with emphasis on accuracy and patient safety.

Ideal candidates will have a GED/HiSET, BLS, and CNA certification, with strong English reading/writing skills.

Qualifications

• GED or HiSET required.
• BLS certification (American Heart Association) and CNA certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides age-appropriate care to patients and applies developmental concepts.
• Monitors vital signs and documents weights/heights and other measurements as required.
• Assists with treatments, dressing changes, and basic procedures under RN supervision.
• Performs Point of Care testing and supports unit procedures.
• Communicates effectively with the care team and patients, ensuring safety and timely care.
