Job summary

Baystate Health is seeking a Patient Care Technician (PCT) to support Registered Nurses in direct patient care and unit operations. The role involves performing bedside tasks, monitoring vitals, and assisting with phlebotomy and EKG procedures, with multi-skills across the unit as needed.

Ideal candidates have at least one year of patient care experience, GED or HiSET, and are proficient in English. BLS and CNA certifications are preferred; compensation is provided at the unit's base pay scale

Qualifications

• Proficient in reading and writing in English.
• Able to maintain professional composure in medium to high-stress situations.
• GED or HiSET awarded or equivalency accepted.

Responsibilities

• Provides age-appropriate care to patients.
• Monitors vital signs and documents measurements.
• Assists with treatments and procedures per policy.
• Assists patients with elimination needs and specimen handling.
• Performs Point of Care (POC) testing.
• Communicates effectively with team and patients.
