Job summary

Longevity Senior Living in Granite City, IL, is seeking a Maintenance Assistant to support a safe, clean, and welcoming community for residents and staff. The role blends plant operations with janitorial tasks, under the Director of Plant Operations, handling work orders, preventive maintenance, apartment turns, and general repairs to keep the community in top condition.

You will collaborate with Housekeeping, Nursing, Dining, Activities, and other departments to ensure a clean, safe environment

Qualifications

• 1+ year of experience in maintenance, facilities, housekeeping, or related field preferred.
• Ability to perform both housekeeping and maintenance responsibilities.
• Basic knowledge of cleaning products, sanitation practices, and safe chemical handling.
• Basic proficiency with hand/power tools and reading equipment manuals.

Responsibilities

• Assist with daily work orders and routine maintenance tasks.
• Perform general cleaning of common areas and maintain floors, carpets, and fixtures.
• Support safety procedures, infection-prevention guidelines, and PPE usage.
• Move and arrange furniture for moves or events and assist with repairs as needed.
