Job summary

EMCOR Facilities Services is seeking a qualified Maintenance Technician for on-site work at client facilities in Durham, NC. You will perform preventive maintenance and corrective repairs on buildings, equipment, and grounds, using carpentry, plumbing, electrical, painting, and HVAC skills.

You will interact with customers, document work in the CMMS, obtain materials, and support safety and compliance training. Two to five years’ mechanical experience and a valid driver’s license are required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma, GED or Equivalent two-year college or technical trade school; or equivalent combination of training, education, and experience.
• Two to five years mechanical experience, including electrical, plumbing, carpentry required; or equivalent combination of training, education, and experience.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Ability to read and comprehend instructions including, but not limited to, safety policies and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in individual and small group situations.
• Strong Problem Solving and Logic Required
• Must be able to read and understand Standard Operating Procedures, Local Operating Procedures, and retain and use information in execution of daily job duties
• Must be able to adapt to rapidly changing situations
• Possess the ability to work overtime on short notice
• Must be self-motivated and have the ability to handle multiple jobs with minimal supervision

Responsibilities

• Performs preventive maintenance and repairs per work order requirements.
• Self performs the following duties in compliance with company procedures, regulatory requirements, and safety standards.
• Completes preventative maintenance and repairs on mechanical systems.
• Perform minor plumbing maintenance on existing systems and replace fixtures as needed.
• Perform routine painting, carpentry work, and related tasks to maintain facilities.
• Performs minor electrical maintenance within state law requirements.
• Completes service inspections and asset inspections as needed.
• Obtains necessary materials and supplies to complete tasks.
• Keeps facilities clean and manages time in CMMS system.
• Attends weekly safety meetings and safety training.
