Job summary

Pacific Skin Institute is seeking a Medical Receptionist to provide a welcoming, patient-centered front desk experience. You will schedule appointments and procedures, check patients in and out, and manage registration forms for a smooth visit.

The role includes handling payments, using EPIC for chart filing, processing medical records requests, and maintaining HIPAA-compliant confidentiality. Travel to multiple PSI sites may be required.

Qualifications

• Provide a warm greeting and excellent customer service to every patient
• Schedule patient appointments and procedures according to established policies and procedures.
• Check-in/Check-out: collect accurate patient information and complete registration forms.
• Maintain and oversee phototherapy patient flow
• Collect patient and insurance payments and reconcile charges daily; explain financial requirements and collect copays.
• Utilize EPIC to file records in patient charts and keep them in order.
• Medical record requests; copy information and forward with consent.
• Maintain files and patient confidentiality per HIPAA.
• Ensure reception area and patient bathroom are stocked and clean.
• Ensure office supplies are sufficient and stocked.
• Perform other related duties as directed or assigned.
• Occasionally travel to PSI sites in Sacramento, Folsom, Elk Grove, Rocklin or Vacaville as needed.

Responsibilities

• Provide a warm greeting and excellent customer service to every patient

• Check-in/Check-out: Obtain accurate information from patients and ensure all registration forms are complete.
• Maintain and oversee phototherapy patient flow
• Collect patient and insurance payments and reconcile charges on a daily basis. Explains financial requirements to the patients or responsible parties and collects copays as required.
• Utilizing EPIC, file records (insurance cards, registration form, ID, referral, etc) in appropriate sections of patient charts and keeps patient charts in proper order.
• Medical record requests. Copy patient information and forward to requesting party after receiving appropriate consent to release medical records.
• (HIPAA) Maintain files and records in a confidential manner. Maintain patient confidentiality.
• Ensure the reception area and patient bathroom is adequately stocked and clean during business hours.
• Ensure office supplies excluding medical supplies are sufficient and stocked.
• Perform other related duties as directed or assigned.
• PSI has 5 locations. Occasionally, due to staffing needs, you must be willing to travel to any of these sites: (Sacramento, Folsom, Elk Grove, Rocklin or Vacaville).
