Job summary

Socket.dev is seeking a Terminal Manager to lead all terminal operations from inbound receipt through final delivery at our Fort Wayne site. The role demands strategic and day‑to‑day leadership to ensure safe, compliant, and efficient freight movement across multimodal modes.

The candidate will drive workforce planning, capacity management, and cost control, while partnering with carriers, customers, and internal teams.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate degree preferred in Supply Chain/Logistics, HS diploma acceptable
• Forklift certification or ability to obtain before operating equipment
• Lean, Six Sigma, DOT/IATA familiarity preferred
• 5+ years leadership in multimodal transportation/3PL environments
• Strong knowledge of multimodal processes, carrier operations and terminal coordination
• Experience with dashboards, scorecards, and KPI reporting
• Ability to create and interpret safety, quality, delivery, cost, and productivity metrics
• Proven discretion with sensitive information

Responsibilities

• Lead terminal operations from inbound receipt to final delivery
• Ensure safety, regulatory compliance across all modes
• Coach teams to drive disciplined execution and accuracy
• Own terminal P&L including labor and costs
• Forecast volume, align capacity, manage cross‑mode resources
• Monitor performance, identify variances, implement corrective actions
• Direct capital expenditures and improvement projects
• Drive continuous improvement with data-driven analytics
• Lead management reviews and develop employees
• Collaborate with carriers, drayage providers, and regulators
• Develop dashboards and KPI reporting for terminal performance
