Job summary

Detroit International in Detroit is seeking a Curriculum Leader for Multilingual Education to drive curriculum development, implementation, and professional learning supporting multilingual learners across grade levels.

The role partners with district departments and school leaders to expand access to high-quality multilingual education and ensure research-based instructional practices align with state standards and the district's vision for excellent instruction.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university is required; Master's degree preferred.
• Valid Michigan Teaching Certificate with ESL or Bilingual endorsement required (NS, YN or YT).
• K-12 classroom teaching experience required, with multilingual learners experience preferred.
• At least three years of instructional leadership or curriculum leadership experience highly preferred.
• Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Create and sustain a culture aligned to the District's mission and equitable outcomes for multilingual learners.
• Guide design and development of standards-aligned curriculum and guidance for multilingual learners.
• Lead development and improvement of multilingual education curriculum resources and assessments.
• Collaborate with core content teams to implement SIOP instructional practices.
• Coordinate multilingual curriculum initiatives across schools to ensure alignment and coherence.
• Provide coaching and support to educators implementing multilingual instructional practices.
