Job summary

The Franklin Group seeks a Maintenance Technician for our Norfolk, VA community. You will maintain property buildings and grounds, diagnose issues, and perform repairs across HVAC, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and related systems. This non-exempt, hourly role emphasizes safety, quality, and resident satisfaction.

We value hands-on problem solving, teamwork, and keeping common areas clean and operable. A high school diploma (GED) and maintenance experience are preferred; on-call availability

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; 1–3 years related experience or training, or equivalent.
• Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating instructions, and procedures.
• Experience with HVAC, electrical, plumbing, carpentry and general maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Perform general maintenance such as plumbing, electrical, HVAC repairs, carpentry, appliance repairs.
• Respond promptly to resident work orders and notify management upon completion.
• Maintain daily repair and upkeep of the community.
• Perform routine maintenance on vacant units prior to occupancy.
• Ensure care and inventory of supplies and equipment.
• Maintain professional appearance and behavior at all times.
• Be available to work on an on-call basis.
