Job summary

The Franklin Group in Hampton, VA is seeking a Maintenance Technician to maintain and repair the property buildings and grounds. You will diagnose problems in HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and other systems, perform routine preventive maintenance, and respond to resident work orders with professionalism.

This hourly, non-exempt role requires a high school diploma or GED (or equivalent experience), HVAC certification, and a valid driver's license.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or equivalent experience.
• 1–3 years related experience or training.
• HVAC certification required; Fair Housing Certification within 1 day of hire.
• Must have a valid driver’s license.
• Ability to read safety instructions and manuals.

Responsibilities

• Perform general maintenance such as plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry and appliance repairs.
• Respond to resident work orders and communicate completion status to management.
• Maintain daily upkeep of the community and perform routine unit punch before occupancy.
• Manage and inventory tools and supplies; ensure a professional appearance and safety compliance.
• Be available to work on an on-call basis and follow safety policies.
